June and July 2022! Bellingham TheatreWorks, in partnership with The Firehouse Arts and Events Center and the The Historic Fairhaven Association presented three plays on the theme of "You'll Understand When You're Younger"

Exploring the tragedies and triumphs of growing up, these three plays performed in repertory six nights a week for four weeks!

Big, Scary Animals

An older white couple from the country moves to the city to be closer to their granddaughter and unknowingly settles in the gay neighborhood. What begins as polite dinner conversation with their gay, multi-ethnic neighbors careens out of control. A hilarious collision of race, sex, guns, and sports, Big, Scary Animals examines shifting generational beliefs and just how hard it is to raise a child regardless of who you are and where you live.

The Children

The Children presents the story of three retired nuclear scientists as they contend with a provocative mix of longing for lost youth, passion, family, and the choices they made. Set against the background of a nuclear apocalypse they helped create.

Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
